ROYAL CENTRAL SCHOOL OF SPEECH AND DRAMA

I am currently employed with the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama as a communications administrator. Responsibilities of this role include the maintenance and upkeep of Central's main website, student and staff profiles, the distribution of internal and external news surrounding Central and their alumni and other administrative duties surrounding the upkeep and maintenance of Central's website.

ROYAL COLLEGE OF PHYSICIANS

I was employed with the Royal College of Physicians as a Content Editor for their new history website, designed for the Museum, Archive and Library team. The design, images and content for the website were my responsibility, as well as the creation of content and editing of text.

DOUBLE HELIX MAGAZINE

I have published work for Double Helix magazine, a science magazine written for a young (8-14 year old) Australian audience. A key component of science communication is relaying complex scientific concepts for an array of audience types. Writing for Double Helix has provided me with the skills to transform scientific research into compelling and exciting stories that engages a younger audience without losing any of its scientific credibility.

CSIRO

I worked for CSIRO's editorial team on a project that engaged the education department, communication department and editorial team. I created, managed and collected data from a survey looking to source past Double Helix science club members (1980s onwards). From the data I conducted interviews which I then filmed and edited to create testimonials for CSIRO.

UQ IN INDONESIA

As a recipient of the New Colombo Plan Scholarship I created a short documentary on the issues of Jakarta's waste management and the generational cycle of trash pickers who survive on these inefficiencies. My project evolved into the groups and organisations that strived to break the generational cycle of poverty within trash picker children through education.

ANCHOR DIGITAL

Anchor Digital is a digital marketing agency that partners with businesses to grow their brand. As an intern, my duties ranged from researching client briefs, SEO research, content creation and editing. Other duties included market research and analysis of client's businesses, market trends, competitors and ideal target markets.

BRISBANE SCIENCE FESTIVAL

I covered the Brisbane Science Festival as an intern journalist with the Brisbane Times. Duties included reporting on events, interviewing scientists, writing and editing stories and relaying sometimes complex science to a lay, non scientific audience. Reporting on these events in real time meant short turn arounds and I was expected to have stories and articles ready within an hour for publication on their live coverage of the event.

AUSTRALIAN MARINE CONSERVATION SOCIETY

The Australian Marine Conservation Society (AMCS) is a non-for-profit organisation that advocates for real, evidence based solutions based on the best available science. The organisation works with research centres and conservation experts to protect marine animals and safeguard Australian oceans. While with AMCS, I worked as the communications coordinator, creating social media posts, organising volunteers and events.

RSPCA

As a volunteer on the creative team, I was responsible for writing bio-pieces that were published on the adopt-a-pet website. I was also an assistant photographer for the animals, however the position was primarily for the creation of written content for publication on their website.
